Description Zeksers 2006-03-25 13:44:41 UTC
Trying to emerge media-sound/alsa-driver-1.0.10-r2 with sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.16 gives an error. I have tried emerging media-sound/alsa-driver-1.0.10-r2 with sys-kernel/archck-sources-2.6.15_p7 and it succeded so i think it's a kernel related fault.

Just found out some info in bug #105519 . Maybe this should be marked as a duplicate but i don't know yet.
Sorry for not looking hard enough before posting a bug.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-25 14:16:08 UTC
You should really use 1.0.11 w/ 2.6.16...
Comment 3 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-25 16:35:39 UTC
As Jakub said, with 2.6.16 you need 1.0.11_rc*
Comment 4 Zeksers 2006-03-26 02:57:55 UTC
I can't have 1.0.11_rc* installed on my system. Why? Look at bug #118217 . That's why reopened this bug.

alsa-1.0.10 won't support 2.6.16 kernels. The above is a separate issue.

Comment 6 Zeksers 2006-03-26 06:58:07 UTC
alsa-driver-1.0.11_rc4 has no problems. I'm closing this bug.
