there is new cvs snapshot of mu-conference and it is quite possible that it will run good with jabber2 so i request for update with jabber2 support http://mu-conference.jabberstudio.org/alpha/mu-conference-0.6.1-20051215.tar.gz
Created attachment 122200 [details] Ebuild for mu-conference-0.7 I've attached an ebuild for mu-conference-0.7. This version supports jabberd-2 and jabberd-1.4 out of the box. This ebuild was tested with my jabberd-2 setup and it works ok. It compiles against jabberd-1.4 without problems. Beware, some filenames (mainly config file and init script) have changed in order to make everything more consistent. This will make bug 62461 obsolete, too.

Hi, This works great for me! (and this even on Sparc!) Please just add ~sparc before committing to portage... ;) Thanks
PS: using jabberd 2 !
this is working for me, too (x86, jabberd-2.1). any idea when we'll have it in portage?
ping ...
Hi, I started to write my own ebuild. I should do some more investigations next time. mu-conference is up and running on amd64 nomultilib with jabberd2. So: - You can add ~amd64 and ~sparc to the ebuild now. - DEPEND => || (net-im/jabberd net-im/jabberd2) is necessary. - I also wrote a clean up patch, that removes some more warnings. But I will address it to the developers directly.

i've been using you ebuild for quite some time here on x86 with jabberd2-2.1.19 and it's working fine. i see no reason why it could not be included in the main tree!
@Manuel: 1. There is no maintainer for this package... 2. I wrote a patch and send it to the mu-conference mailinglist: No reaction at all. Is mu-conference still alive? See https://mail.gna.org/public/mu-conference-talk/2007-11/msg00000.html Aiko
I have no idea if mu-conference is still alive. Since you still didn't get an answer, I'm not too confident ... Searching the web I found another project that implements multi-user chat for Jabber/XMPP called "Palaver". FWIW, I wrote an ebuild and field a new bug for that: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205728
Hi, [ebuild N ] net-im/jabberd2-2.1.21 USE="ldap pam -debug -ipv6 -memdebug -mysql -pipe -postgres -sasl -sqlite" 629 kB [ebuild U ] net-im/mu-conference-0.7-r1 [0.7] USE="-mysql" 0 kB [1] works fine on x86.
+ 01 Mar 2009; Patrick Lauer <patrick@gentoo.org> + +files/mu-conference-0.7.init, +mu-conference-0.7.ebuild: + Bump to 0.7. Fixes #118113. Added ~sparc and ~amd64 keywords. Ebuild + modifications by Marko Durkovic and Aiko Barz. That's the -r1 ebuild you guys made with a few syntactical cleanups. Enjoy!
