xmingw-binutils 2.15.90.0.2 is too old and won't compile correct code for certain projects such as ReactOS (http://www.reactos.org). Can't the newer version of xmingw-binutils be marked as stable yet?
Need to add the latest version of binutils for xmingw.
Please update this package! (I'm also using it to build ReactOS) In fact, the stable version of xmingw-binutils (2.15.90.0.2) cannot be build with gcc-4.1.1 and binutils-2.16.1-r2 so I've upgraded to binutils-2.15.94.20050118.1 (the unstable version) In the React OS wiki at http://www.reactos.org/wiki/index.php/HOWTO/setup_a_build_environment_for_Linux/Gentoo threse are some ebuilds (a portage overlay) for newer versions, http://pwp.netcabo.pt/0448311801/gentoo/dev-util.tar.bz2 These ebuilds use binutils-2.16.91.0.1 and gcc-3.4.4. (I've not tested them yet) It would be nice to put the new version of binutils on portage
gcc 4.1.1 is now stable in portage, and the current stable version of xmingw-binutils will not compile with it. This needs to be updated.
