Description Gustavo Ribeiro Alves 2005-12-03 11:05:03 UTC
Installing zmysqlda crashes the zope instance because it needs mysql-python
compiled to the same python version that zope is using. But gentoo forces zope
to use python-2.3 while mysql-python is using python-2.4.

The solution proposed on the thread did not work on my system.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

as mentioned in the forums thread, currently the only viable solution is to
manually install package for python2.3:
"ie: download package, untar etc, and do python2.3 setup.py or install.py"

unfrotunately full solution probably want be done (at least, zope corp, will
faster approve python2.4 usage).
Comment 2 Radoslaw Stachowiak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-07 12:18:06 UTC
today, I introduced zope-2.9.0 into portage which directly uses python2.4
So this will not be fixed for older version.
