Description Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-27 05:11:48 UTC
Over 0.1.6, 0.1.7 includes fixes for a double-free case, a segfault, and a
memory leak.

Once this goes stable we'll also be making gamin the default provider of
virtual/fam and adjusting the relevant docs to reflect this. gamin is much nicer
as it doesn't require a daemon, has a superior architecture, and uses inotify
when available for real accuracy in file change notifications.
Comment 1 Saleem Abdulrasool (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-27 10:23:40 UTC
x86 marked stable.
Comment 2 Olivier Crete (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-27 12:08:09 UTC
amd64 stable
Comment 3 nixnut (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-02 02:57:22 UTC
Tested on ppc. Builds and installs ok.

Output from some of the tests seem to indicate errors. These don't seem critical
enough to fail to install gamin though, so maybe it's nothing.

Output from the tests:

Comment 4 Evan Langlois 2005-12-19 00:51:15 UTC
Tested on sparc platform (E450 running kernel 2.6.15, gcc 3.4.4 and Gnome 2.12.2).
Comment 5 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-20 06:26:00 UTC
0.1.7 seems to work well enough on sparc with the new stuff to deserve a ~sparc keyword.
We'll review candidate stable status in the future after the 30 day window and a few additional testers from the sparc dev team.
Comment 6 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-29 09:50:01 UTC
Thats a good point - we should make sure all arches are keyworded where fam was before making this "global" change.

mips/ppc64 : this means you should keyword gamin as testing, and then 30 days after, as stable.
Comment 7 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-03 08:47:49 UTC
added ~ppc64
Comment 8 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-08 01:29:51 UTC
Hansmi has already marked this ppc stable, thanks for testing nixnut.
Comment 9 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-13 06:48:53 UTC
Missed an arch. alpha: please mark gamin as testing, and then at a sufficient time later, stable.
Comment 10 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-25 18:28:57 UTC
sparc stable.
Comment 11 Jose Luis Rivero (yoswink) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-30 14:06:29 UTC
Today, agriffis marked gamin as ~alpha.

We'll wait some time before marking it stable. Leave alpha cc'ed to remember this.
Comment 12 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-03 15:55:39 UTC
mips, ppc64: Please mark gamin-0.1.7 stable
Comment 13 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-17 13:43:44 UTC
stable on ppc64
Comment 14 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-26 12:42:25 UTC
MIPS is done.

alpha: You are the last arch, and I think it has been in testing long enough (4 weeks). Can you mark this stable now please?
Comment 15 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-18 06:36:02 UTC
alpha: prod :)
Comment 16 Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-19 14:11:51 UTC
Done, sorry for the delay.
Comment 17 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-19 14:47:14 UTC
all done
