Stable netspeed_version (0.8) throws an error whenever I try to compile it. I guess an library update (glib-2.4.0?) might have broken version 0.8. Version 0.9.2 compiles and seems to work without problems. A version bump seems to be the easier/faster solution to me. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge netspeed_applet Actual Results: (...) !!! ERROR: net-analyzer/netspeed_applet-0.8 failed. !!! Function src_compile, Line 25, Exitcode 2 !!! hm yeah plus that the gtop dep also needs fixing before the 2.6 version goes stable. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 45747 ***
Author's changelog for version 0.9.2: "Other changes are: I removed -D_*DEPRECATED stuff from the Makefiles, so that 0.9.2 now builds on gnome 2.5.x, etc." Seems to match the problem described on bug 45747. :) Anyway, I made a simple patch to build netspeed_applet-0.8 on stable.
