Description Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-08 14:43:20 UTC
LabPlot is a program for two- and three-dimensional graphical presentation of
data sets and functions.

- no depencies beside kde
- destop entry is missing and I'm not in the mood to create a suitable icon

labplot-1.2.3.ebuild - added missing dependencies
Comment 7 MasterX 2004-04-30 17:36:59 UTC
Out of curiosity.. why Labplot is not in the portage?

Ad. #7: Because none of the Gentoo-Developers added it yet. ;)

Now it should be in Portage as "~x86". I also added the flags "fftw imagemagick tiff" to disable stuff if the use-flags are not set.

There is also a newer version 1.3.0pre2, but it states "If it compiles, it's good. If it starts, it's perfect.". Therefore I think 1.2.3 is better for now.
Comment 10 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-01 04:42:00 UTC
The newer version compiles fine, but adds new optional dependencies (qsa, vtk, grass/Qt) and only qsa is in portage yet.
Comment 11 MasterX 2004-05-01 08:50:58 UTC
Are all these dependencies for Labplot 1.2.3 necessary?
I installed Labplot 1.2.3 in the home directory, without these dependencies and it compiled just fine
Comment 12 Benjamin Schulz 2004-05-01 10:35:18 UTC
I think these options are for rendering of 3D Maps and Images. See http://grass.itc.it/ and http://public.kitware.com/VTK/

Since they are free available, it would be good they were in Portage too. But when you don't want to plot 3D images LabPlot works still without them.
Comment 13 Benjamin Schulz 2004-05-01 10:38:11 UTC
Well, grass seems to be in Portage now:

      Latest version available: 5.0.2

But not vtk.
Comment 14 Benjamin Schulz 2004-05-01 10:44:02 UTC
I opened a new Bug for VTK to be in Portage:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49626
Comment 15 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-01 11:12:50 UTC
grass != grass/Qt, same for vtk/Qt
Comment 16 Dominik Stadler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-16 12:38:51 UTC
As this Bug is closed, developers won't necessarily look at the request for labplot-1.3.0xxx, can you open a new Bug for this, please?
