Description Thomas Pani 2008-12-26 15:24:09 UTC
The iwlagn driver included in kernels >=2.6.27 needs ucode API -2
Therefore, please mark net-wireless/iwl4965-ucode-228.57.2.21 (or equivalent) stable.
Would be nice if this could happen quickly; 2.6.27 is getting stable-keyworded since yesterday.
Comment 1 Roland Ramthun 2008-12-29 11:34:15 UTC
2.6.27 has now been stabilized for most platforms.
An kernel upgrade renders your wireless link unusable, a symlink to the old firmware doesn't work.

This stabilization needs to be done as kernel 2.6.27 has been already stabilized. I think that this should be marked at least as "normal" severity instead of "enhancement"

Thanks

x86 herd has no hardware to test. feel free to mark it x86 yourself.

Works correctly on my x86 Thinkpad R61 (though I now suffer from bug #246026)
