evolution-sharp from Portage, 0.12.0, won't build against the Gnome 2.18 masked
version of evolution-data-server, 1.10.1-r2. The most recent version available
(from April 23), 0.12.3, does build with that version for e-d-s.

Copying the old ebuild to the new version seems to work fine.

Sorry for the delay here, now bumped to 0.12.4. I couldn't reproduce the
compile error, but I bumped it anyway.

Thanks, but in the meantime I've updated e-d-s to 1.11.5 from the gnome
overlay, which this doesn't build against. I realize that's a dev release so I
don't expect  this updated before gnome 2.20 comes out.

Evolution-sharp 0.13.1 is now the latest release, and it does build against
e-d-s 1.11.5. From the changelog:

2007-07-17  Veerapuram Varadhan  <vvaradhan@novell.com>

        * configure.in: Add support for e-d-s 1.11.5 development release -
        Use 1.10.x API as nothing changed since then. Bump version to
        0.13.1.

please wait until the new e-d-s is in the main tree, or even better, contact
theGNOME overlay folk to provide an ebuild there, so that it can get some
testing there in the meantime.

beagle 0.2.8 was just released today, which now requires evolution-sharp
0.13.3. I know the new beagle isn't in the tree yet, but I'm reopening and
modifying the subject to match the new version as beagle tends to be bumped
relatively quickly in Portage. Copying the old ebuild seems to work fine for
this version as well.

FYI, I didn't ask the Gnome devs to add this to gnome-experimental as it isn't,
strictly speaking, part of Gnome and non-official packages don't seem to make
it into that overlay.

FYI, I just built beagle 0.2.18 from my own overlay. There are a lot of evo
contacts, calendar entries, etc. in the queue to be indexed now so it looks
like evo-sharp 0.13.3 is working fine so far.

Hi Luis, is there any news on this front? Any help/testing required?

evo-sharp 0.14.x is needed for e-d-s 1.12.0, now masked in the tree. The latest
version is 0.14.0.1, which builds fine for me with a renamed evo-sharp ebuild.

Beagle is going to release 0.3 this month, and it requires
>=evolution-sharp-0.14
0.3 is going to be the next major release, and an RC will be released soon for
testing purposes.
Just thought it would be good to let you guys know so that the (cranky)
evolution backend can be tested on Gentoo before release.

ebuild for evolution-0.14.0.1 with updated e-d-s dep

The attached ebuild has been tested on ~x86 with e-d-s-1.12.1 & beagle trunk
(which is supposed to work with these versions of evo-sharp and e-d-s). 

Beagle seems to have no problem, plus the
evolution-sharp-0.14.0.1/evolution/Test{Book,Cal,Task}.exe tests run fine.

The only problem I could find was an inability to work with webcals that
require authentication when evolution is in online mode, which is supposedly
being worked on in evo-sharp and is not supported atm.

1.4.0.1 in tree, and stable for amd64 and x86.
