------- Comment #1 From Alexander Skwar 2006-05-26 13:05:20 0000 -------
When a vim process has crashed and didn't delete its .swp
file, the following screen is shown, when the same file is
to be edited again:

E325: ACHTUNG
Auslagerungsdatei mit folgendem Namen gefunden: ".cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU.swp"
Eigentum von: alexander vom: Thu May 25 09:49:09 2006
          Dateiname: ~alexander/cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU
          verändert: nein
      Benutzer-Name: alexander Host-Name: blatt
         Process-ID: 21260
Beim Öffnen der Datei "cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU"
                vom: Thu May 25 09:46:50 2006

".cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU.swp"

(B)eenden, (A)bbrechen:

That's the recovery screen.

In the last line, the options "Open Read-Only" ("Öffnen nur zum [L]esen")
and also "Delete it" ("(L)öschen") are shown (among others). Both have
the short cut "L".

As they've got the same shortcut, it's not possible to select
"(L)öschen". Pressing the "l" or "L" key will select "Öffnen
nur zum [L]esen" ("Open Read-Only").

For reference, here's the recovery screen in english:

E325: ATTENTION
Found a swap file by the name ".cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU.swp"
owned by: alexander dated: Thu May 25 09:49:09 2006
          file name: ~alexander/cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU
           modified: no
user name: alexander host name: blatt
         process ID: 21260
While opening file "cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU"
              dated: Thu May 25 09:46:50 2006

(1) Another program may be editing the same file.
If this is the case, be careful not to end up with two
different instances of the same file when making changes.
     Quit, or continue with caution.

(2) An edit session for this file crashed.
If this is the case, use ":recover" or "vim -r cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU"
to recover the changes (see ":help recovery").
If you did this already, delete the swap file ".cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU.swp"
     to avoid this message.

Swap file ".cpio-aufruf.txt.NIU.swp" already exists!
[O]pen Read-Only, (E)dit anyway, (R)ecover, (D)elete it, (Q)uit, (A)bort:

In English, it's possible to enter "D" to delete the .swp file.

I reported this upstream via email to bugs@vim.org, but haven't got a response
yet.

Hmm, what do you think would make a better letter to press to do this? "Ö"?

All that I need to do is change the location of an & character in
vim7/src/po/de.po at around line 3519. So, just tell me what you think would
make the best choices for keys to press, and I can make it so.

Hi!

Yes, I heard back from upstream. Sorry for not keeping this bug up-to-date :(

I'll copy-paste the (short) mail conversation here. I also attachd the patch,
