This maybe is connected with bug #96088. emerge --info shows the kernel you are currently *running* emerge -pv gentoo-sources shows the kernel you have *installed* To elucidate, emerging a kernel does not build it and reboot your box, it merely puts the source in /usr/src. It's up to you to build the new kernel and reboot. Come on - I'm not that dull! The same kernel is running as the one installed! 'dmesg | less' Bootdata ok (command line is root=/dev/sda2 hdd=scsi vga=0x31B video=vesafb:mttr,ywrap,1280x1024-32@60) Linux version 2.6.11-gentoo-r7 (root@magic) (gcc-Version 3.4.3 20041125 (Gentoo Hardened 3.4.3-r1, ssp-3.4.3-0, pie-8.7.7)) #9 Wed Jun 1 22:50:22 CEST 2005 magic linux # pwd /usr/src/linux magic linux # cd .. magic src # ll insgesamt 16 drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 15. Fix your symlink or add symlink to your use flags. You have -r7 and r-11 installed. > Come on - I'm not that dull!
