Bug 9477 – Gdm can't log in since pam-update.

I'm running these versions stated below on gentoo 1.4. I have recomplied both
packages recently to see if it helped but it didn't.

gdm-2.4.0.11
pam-0.75-r8

And for any username I get "authorization failed" even before I'm asked for the
password. This is what the log says:
