Looking at this report it seems the user first hit a reported issue with the PPC32 handbook giving information for x86 partition layouts ( #914868 ) then hit the known issue that yaboot is likely no longer fit for purpose and should be replaced with GRUB. Steps to resolve this: 1. Confirm from user if anything else is broken in the handbook causing this 2. Resolve #914868 3. Merge https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Immolo/NewWorldGRUB into the handbook after it meets the standards of the wiki (Already approved by gyakovlev) 4. Remove yaboot from the handbook Steps 3 and 4 also apply to the PPC64 handbook as it seems the correct information for partitions have already been fixed there. I have the hardware to do the work for most of this so please contact me if it helps get this fixed quicker.) https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:PPC64/Installation/Bootloader Thanks Handbook team. |
