True for firefox 1.0.1, I did: # emerge -C plugger (some old 4.0) Then, remove the named dependency in named ebuild, then # emerge netscape-plugger (5.1.3) /opt/netscape/plugins/plugger.so was already linked to the firefox dir (/opt/firefox/plugins), Tested the thing, Worked for me! (No mozilla needed) It is also working for firefox-1.0.4 IMHO, 99.9% of the people installing nescape-plugger have some netscape-like browser installed (why would you want a plugin without having the "father" program?). So why not simply remove the dependency and add a warning in the ebuild stating that you need a netscape-like browser for plugger to work? Ping here... please fix the dependency.
