Looks like this is the same bug as http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77784 Until I'm sure (or we solve) keeping this open anyway I'm having the exact same problem as well, a bunch of undefined references when building libpyuno.so I emerged it with only "-march=athlon-xp -pipe" as the CFLAGS /home/anthony> emerge info Portage 2.0.51-r3 (default-linux/x86/2004.3, gcc-3.3.5, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.10-gentoo-r4 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.10-gentoo-r4 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r5 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.5-r1 Binutils: sys-devel/binutils-2.15.92.0.2-r1 Headers: sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.4.21-r1 Libtools: sys-devel/libtool-1.5.2-r7 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -pipe -O2" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -pipe -O2" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.osuosl.org/ ftp://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/gentoo/ http://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X alsa apm arts avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr crypt cups dvd encode esd f77 fam fbcon font-server foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gnome gpm gstreamer gtk2 imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jpeg kde libg++ libwww mad mikmod mmx motif mozilla mpeg nas ncurses nls nptl oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline samba sdl slang spell sse ssl sysvipc tcpd tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib" @Anthony: As you are mentioning "a bunch of undefined references" could you please also post the relevant parts of your build log? If you don't want to wait you could also remove the pthreadlink-fix.patch from the ebuild. Basically this seems to be caused by a patched which was recently introduced while trying to get hardened gccs to work. Hope this helps I have the same error. But some info: - So. 2005-01-16 I had compile openoffice-1.1.4 successfully on my notebook. - 2005-01-17 I want to compile it on my desktop PC with this error - Today (2005-01-18) I do an additiona emerge of openoffice-1.1.4 on my notebook and it fails too. The only program changed in this 2 days was bin86 from 0.16.13 to 0.16.16, a new compiled kernel (same but now compiled with gc-3.3.5) and I had reboot my notebook. I downgrade bin86 to 0.16.13 but openoffice did not compile. INFO!!! I did not try your patch. Hope it helps. The patch works fine for me. Thanks... Fine, appily closing another bug :) *** Bug 78766 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** sorry, I still can't compile, I emerge sync'd, and then emerge openoffice-1.3.7, below is what I get, is there anything I can provide you with that would help you? make.conf etc? zip -j -5 "../unxlngi4.pro/01/normal/f_0416" "/var/tmp/portage/openoffice-ximian-1.3.7/work/ OOo_1.1.3_src/solver/645/unxlngi4.pro/bin/dtint" adding: dtint (deflated 69%) zip -j -5 "../unxlngi4.pro/01/normal/f_0417" "/var/tmp/portage/openoffice-ximian-1.3.7/work/ OOo_1.1.3_src/solver/645/unxlngi4.pro/bin/dtappintegrate" adding: dtappintegrate (deflated 80%) optimize summary: 0 kb Replacing ${EVAL} with Replacing ${FILEFORMATNAME} with OpenOffice.org Replacing ${FILEFORMATVERSION} with 1.0 Replacing ${LONG_PRODUCTEXTENSION} with Replacing ${PRODUCTEXTENSION} with Replacing ${PRODUCTNAME} with OpenOffice.org Replacing ${PRODUCTVERSION} with 1.1.3 time needed: 0:0:38 WARNING! It does not work for me (in bug 78766 comment 1). I see line epatch ${FILESDIR}/${PV}/pyunolink-fix.patch but it is only in hardened if-use and it does not exists in ${FILESDIR}/${PV} btw my original bug posting was wrt openoffice-ximian, could it be that this patch was not removed from these ebuilds? the version I tried to build was openoffice-ximian-1.3.7.ebuild and it didn't work. thanks! @Sergey: It's correct that way, the patch actually broke the build. Also are you sure, that you get the EXACT same bug as the original report was, cause most likely if it still breaks for you you'll get: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77784 Which looks quite similar, but is another beast @Errikos: Your bug is not in any way related to the original report, so please open a seperate bug I had a seperate bug for this:) ------- Additional Comment #5 From Andreas Proschofsky 2005-01-18 03:54 PST ------- *** Bug 78490 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** @Errikos: The build failure you posted there is something totally different than you posted here now... @Andreas: thanks, the better description of my problem is in bug #77784 |
