build log
Similar (or same) issue with build log paste online at https://gist.github.com/ILMostro/1fae6a0905cb0394b7d62d2fa33d6d81. For me, at least, this issue is only present if the unstable gnome-extra/evolution-data-server-3.40.0 is installed. Once I downgraded to the stable version 3.38.4, mail-client/evolution-3.38.4 compiled successfully as well. I have already opened a bug related to latest evolution-data-server here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/783234 Well the GNOME team obviously was in a hurry to release GNOME 40 but they forgot that Evolution is still an important part of GNOME and though everything that is released is unstable (~) still we will need the whole GNOME 40 :) I guess we will just have to wait for the GNOME team to get to the proper evolution (and companions) versions... like: https://download.gnome.org/sources/evolution-ews/3.40/ The bug has been closed via the following commit(s): https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=2e21e92c2b7e5884147a6328923f0a53cd60d0e7 commit 2e21e92c2b7e5884147a6328923f0a53cd60d0e7 Author: Matt Turner <mattst88@gentoo.org> AuthorDate: 2021-04-17 21:39:47 +0000 Commit: Matt Turner <mattst88@gentoo.org> CommitDate: 2021-04-17 21:52:19 +0000 mail-client/evolution: Version bump to 3.40.0 Closes: https://bugs.gentoo.org/783231 Signed-off-by: Matt Turner <mattst88@gentoo.org> mail-client/evolution/Manifest | 1 + mail-client/evolution/evolution-3.40.0.ebuild | 154 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2 files changed, 155 insertions(+) (In reply to PhobosK from comment #5) > Well the GNOME team obviously was in a hurry to release GNOME 40 but they > forgot that Evolution is still an important part of GNOME and though > everything that is released is unstable (~) still we will need the whole > GNOME 40 :) > > I guess we will just have to wait for the GNOME team to get to the proper > evolution (and companions) versions... like: > > https://download.gnome.org/sources/evolution-ews/3.40/ This comment really irritates me. I'm doing GNOME bumps by myself. % git shortlog --author=mattst88 --since=1week | grep -c 'Version bump' 71 > I'm doing GNOME bumps by myself.

And you're doing a great service to us all. Thank you very much!
(In reply to PhobosK from comment #5) > Well the GNOME team obviously was in a hurry to release GNOME 40 but they > forgot that Evolution is still an important part of GNOME and though > everything that is released is unstable (~) still we will need the whole > GNOME 40 :) > > I guess we will just have to wait for the GNOME team to get to the proper > evolution (and companions) versions... like: > > https://download.gnome.org/sources/evolution-ews/3.40/ In future, please stick to the mantra: "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". It's been one guy doing the whole thing and it's getting there. We're volunteers and getting an email like this from a comment on a bug is extremely demotivating. Stick to technical suggestions for fixes and bug reports, not commentary on our (unpaid) efforts please. (In reply to Albert W. Thank you very much! Absolutely! I can confirm it works :D matt, you are doing a really great work with gnome, thanks! *** Bug 784293 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
