Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: normal CC: media-video

Description Luca Rosellini 2004-11-28 06:37:51 UTC
When starting totem no windows are shown even if the process is running as shown by top.
The same thing happens even running totem as root.

If root is running a cpu intensive task (like emerging a program) I am able to run totem successfully.
I briefly discussed this bug with Bastien Nocera on gnome bugzilla.
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153233

But as this seems to me to be a gentoo related bug I decided to file this bug.

It is also discussed here:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=253882

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge totem
2. run totem as root or as regular user
3.

Actual Results:
totem process starts but no windows are shown

Expected Results:
Totem main window should be displayed on screen
