Description Andreas Simon 2002-08-27 05:45:22 UTC
Here's a new ebuild for the boehm garbage collection.
This new version is needed to have functional gc
in Mono. The old version will not work with Mono.
The official Mono rpms also require this version
of boehm-gc.

It's no 1-to-1-copy of the old ebuild, some changes were
made:

* build the shared libraries too
* install the man page into section 3, were it belongs.

It's my very first ebuild,
so I guess it's not perfect ;o)

Cheers,
Andreas Simon

Btw, I'll also post an ebuild for Mono 0.15.

ebuild

Here we go.
Comment 2 Andreas Simon 2002-08-27 07:57:04 UTC
I just saw that the DESCRIPTION of the ebuild is a bit
long (according to the howto it should be a one-liner).

So maybe it should better be shortened to something like:

DESCRIPTION="The Boehm-Demers-Weiser conservative garbage collector"

Hi Andreas.

Thank you for your submission!

It appears, that boehm-gc-6.1 is already in portage. Looks like foser reached
this app faster thatn me in his list of new submissions and updates once the
freeze was lifted. Anyway thank you again for partiipation. I will close this
bug now (unless you will find that another ebuild does not work or this one is
somehow better. PLease reopen the bug then).

George
