I'm not sure but maybe this could be related to this bug: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=251543 I see this also. In addition the find as you type feature does not work. I noticed however that the find toolbar then highlight function does work. Bug 64196 has a solution. Edit /usr/portage/eclass/mozilla.eclass and remove "typeaheadfind" from the line: myext="cookie,inspector,negotiateauth,pref,transformiix,typeaheadfind,universalchardet,webservices,xmlextras,xml-rpc" then rebuild firefox. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 64196 *** WARNING: this suggestion i am making *will* dump all your settings extensions etc. etc. for firefox my proposed workaround: delete or move the old ~/.mozilla/firefox start firefox edit | preferences: advanced::Accessibility; Use Find As You Type [enabled] as i recall, that was all i had to do. |
