I tried the solution covered in the Debian bugreport, I unmerged and remerged galeon. But unfortunately this did not resolve the issue for me. Correction, the unmerge; merge solution WORKS, I just forgot to kill a running galeon-bin. Sorry for any confusion. So anyone experiencing these symptoms simply unmerge galeon and remerge it. Well, this is a cantfix issue, same will happen for epiphany. Basically, mozilla was once more a bit ABI incompatible in between releases, forcing a rebuild of all GRE using packages. True, but if one knows issues can exist between certain packages why not either display a warning message at the end or automatically recompile the potentially broken packages ? Merge/unmerge is a little detail once you know it. But I think more people will end up with a broken galeon than with a working one. (just my opinion) |
