i kindly request you to try including the following pacakges in the base 
install cd as we currently have a network based install only.

MTR,TCPDUMP,LINKS & IRSSI or epic or Bitchx.

this pkgs help troubleshoot any network issues and also help the user surfing 
while the installation is going on & the irc app may help him connect to the 
irc and request help while installing.

SpanKY: i think that bug is unrelated.

I believe the irc client is already added, don't know about the others, and 
i'm not in the mood for checking it.

OK, the "2002122100" livecd has lynx and irssi on it, but no network diagnostic 
tools (so I'm leaving the bug open)
