The bug #543818 also applies to this version so the merge fails with the assertion due to a multilib problem. The fix for this is included in sys-apps/portage-2.2.19 (or now sys-apps/portage-2.2.20) which is still marked as unstable. To avoid confusion the dev-libs/intel-common ebuild should probably depend on >=sys-apps/portage-2.2.19.

Ebuilds should almost never list specific package managers in DEPEND, so please do NOT do this.
