I've added the patch in gnome-terminal-3.16.2-r2 in the overlay. Because if we are applying patches from Fedora, we might as well add this one too. Moved to the tree with Gnome 3.16. |
Created attachment 392732 [details, diff] Restores background transparency in gnome-terminal-3.14.2 As I'm sure you all remember, a while back the gnome team decided to remove transparency from gnome-terminal in gnome 3.6. As of the latest version of Fedora, the Fedora team has actually added a patch that adds back in background transparency for gnome-terminal. Ubuntu has also followed suit with this, and is including the patch in vivid. Debian seems to still be discussing this on their mailing list. I've found a version that was adapted for Funtoo and tried it on Gentoo. Patch seems to compile with the portage ebuild for gnome-terminal just fine. Of course, I understand if you guys choose not to include this patch, but I figured I might as well ask :)
