One thing to add is that this causes compatability issues with other distros that would be using 5.5 by default. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 481304 *** |
I am using mysql work bench which also seems to pull in mysql server. I am trying to do a table dump on a db running mysql 5.5 running a different linux distribution, and I get the following message mysqldump is version 5.1.70, but the MySQL Server to be dumped has version 5.5.35-0ubuntu0.12.04.2. Because the version of mysqldump is older than the server, some features may not be backed up properly. It is recommended you upgrade your local MySQL client programs, including mysqldump to a version equal to or newer than that of the target server.
