That patch dates back to 2006. Why haven't the authors pushed it upstream? See http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/openssh/dev/53564#53564 I hope to eventually patch the ebuild myself and test it thoroughly if nobody else goes for it in the meantime. sorry, but we have enough (big) patches in openssh as it is. we aren't looking at juggling even more. the current diffstat shows: 18 files changed, 1394 insertions(+), 286 deletions(-) i'll add epatch_user to the ebuild though so you can drop it on your own system into /etc/portage/patches/ ...
