The same problem here on my laptop with stable amd64 and VIDEO_CARDS="intel". Going back to xorg-server-1.12.4 solved the problem. I have no problem on x86 and amd64, both nouveau and intel Same problem here on PowerMac G5 running ppc64 with Radeon9800XT card. Same problem with latest stable 1.13.1 *** Bug 448424 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I'm having the same problem on my PowerBook G4, see bug 448424. A few things to note here: 1. We need to move to KMS in order for this to work, even on PPC! Make sure you have the KMS drivers built and that the radeonfb driver isn't running. 2. I found that specifying the BusID for my Radeon card in an xorg.conf fixes this specfic problem. Apparently there's a regression in the device finding code. 3. As an aside, for best performance, also turn off vsync in your xorg.conf, it runs terribly on PPC with vsync on. *** Bug 455468 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #7) > 2. You should make sure that upstream is aware of this problem, best check https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ if a report already exists and create one if not. On my Mac Mini G4 the KMS drivers are near unuseable, with very frequent crashes and colour glitches. See also https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=813949 (In reply to comment #11) That is a different issue, please don't mix the two in this bug. |
Created attachment 331639 [details] Xorg.0.log After upgrading to =x11-base/xorg-server-1.13.0-r1 on my iBook G4, and then remerging all x11 drivers, the X enviroment stopped working. Short description: (EE) No devices detected. Long description: see the attached Xorg.0.log file. I have downgraded to =x11-base/xorg-server-1.12.2 it works again.
