The Gentoo installation is open for many tweaks and such. We frequently get the request to add a certain tip or trick to the installation instructions. Although some indeed get in (because they are frequently asked or provide an advantage that cannot be simply dismissed) most are given a "WONTFIX" or "LATER" state in order not to overwhelm the reader too much.

This bugreport is meant to keep a collection of these tips and/or tricks so that, once a developer is interested in writing a tips 'n tricks document for the installation, this information can be acquired easily.
