tracker with USE=eds provides an in-process evolution plugin for indexing emails. Due to API changes in >=evolution-3.5.3, this plugin is completely broken. Upstream has started a new branch in git for updating the plugin, but at the monent, the work is not complete:

If the plugin is not fixed by the time we are ready to unmask eds-3.6/evo-3.6, we will have to mask the eds USE flag for tracker.

This is now preventing an upgrade to gnome-3.6, until the user disables eds support on tracker

Masked, thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately, it looks like tracker upstream has not yet finished the eds-3.6 porting.
