Description daevst 2012-08-19 00:13:10 UTC
The iso image install-x86-minimal-20120710.iso hangs while searching for the cdrom with a pre-partitioned drive. The last few messages displayed are:
 Searching for cdrom
 mounting /dev/sr0 (nothing to mount)
 mounting /dev/sr1 (nothing to mount)
 mount /dev/sda1 (hangs here).
This particlular partition is a Linux swap partition.
I've used the debug option to verify the attempted mount hangs instead of failing or determining partition is a swap partition. The last known image that worked is
install-x86-minimal-20120626.iso. Note, that I was unable to test the
install-x86-minimal-20120703.iso image so it may work also.
I've lowered the severity since a previous image is available that works.
I looked for a boot option that would allow this partition to be skipped but didn't see anything appropriate. The closest being to disable SATA altogether which would then prevent the install anyway.

Please test the latest ISO and report if it works for you.

It works. There is something I'm looking into after this part of the boot, but either way it would be a different problem.
