Description Luis Medinas 2012-06-06 20:53:41 UTC
It would be nice to include this patch, all the major distros include it anyway. Also gentoo has gdm, systemd and openrc with plymouth support it would be great if the last missing piece to have a smooth transition. http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/precise/xserver-xorg-video-intel/precise/view/head:/debian/patches/101_copy-fb.patch Reproducible: Always

What is the upstream status of this patch?
Comment 2 Luis Medinas 2012-06-07 13:15:03 UTC
Honestly i don't know but for a few years the major distros ship this patch, eventualy it will end up there.

I am asking about upstream because we don't want to be stuck with maintaining such a patch indefinitely. It would be good if you send this patch to the intel-gfx mailing list to get at least a comment from the developers. > the major distros ship this patch A quick survey reveals that the following distros include this patch: Fedora OpenSUSE Ubuntu These distros don't include it: Arch Debian Mageia/Mandriva Slackware
