As discussed on gentoo-dev mailing list [1], _p should only be used if upstream releases a patchset. So I like to go the way gnome herd uses for gtk2/3: Add each 100 of revision indicates the patchset version. This is the updated diff to autofs-5.0.6-r5.ebuild.
