emerge acl ... buys you a libattr & libacl. did you build samba from source or install from a GRP download? ebuild already has conditional dependancy on sys-apps/acl dependant on USE flag acl. Suggest -> invalid. Hey, thanks for your help. Bug 48195 certainly looks to be the root cause. I have successfully build a Gentoo platform using the 04 minimal CD (Starting from stage2.) As this was build on the ruins of the previous attempt, (After reformatting, LOL,) I cannot verify this now. thank you again for your assistance.
