 dev-texlive/texlive-basic-2008-r1 stable keeps failing emerge.
tex stuff is terrible for not ensuring changeable little tex packages with some obscure file type are not installed. Can't get to either package

yes, dev-texlive/texlive-latex-2008-r2 fails to compile.

It was right we didn't file anything.
My system has finally caught up.  Both packages finally emerged.
