myspell-en provides most of the en-* dictionaries for english, as gentoo always uses systems libs we have made mozilla products use system dictionaries. We are currently working with upstream to include the updated patch for hunspell dictionary detection. Just for the record we have used myspell dictionaries from the system since early firefox-3.0.x This bug isn't invalid, because I can't get rid of the dictionaries. Since there was no reply, I guess I'll open it again myself. Sorry for the noise. (In reply to comment #2) > This bug isn't invalid, because I can't get rid of the dictionaries. If your not happy with the myspell dictionaries you can speak to that herd about it, or you are free to remove the system hunspell detection in your own overlay. I can not accomidate everyone. If you use openoffice or libreoffice you would experience the same issue. This bug is very invalid and wont be fixed from the mozilla side of things. So you're saying there is no provision in the mozilla build system that allows one to disable hunspell support? (And therefore allow a USE flag that controls it.) (In reply to comment #5) > So you're saying there is no provision in the mozilla build system that allows > one to disable hunspell support? (And therefore allow a USE flag that controls > it.) Your always welcome to use firefox-bin and thunderbird-bin *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 366249 *** |
