I've noticed that this "CONTENTS" file is different from the other ones: there are no "dir" or "obj" tags at the beginning of the line. Maybe this is the matter: how do I solve it?

patch for portage-2.1.9.42

Save as /tmp/portage-2.1.9.42.patch and apply as follows:

  cd /usr/lib/portage
  patch -p1 < /tmp/portage-2.1.9.42.patch

This patch includes the following two commits:

This is fixed in 2.1.9.45 and 2.2.0_alpha29.
