Description Dan Johansson 2010-11-10 15:49:22 UTC
After upgrading to perl-5.12.2-r2 the suidperl binary is missing (and the perlsuid USE flag is also removed).

Some SW still needs this binary.

It is gone: http://search.cpan.org/dist/perl/INSTALL#suidperl

Suggest this is marked as a duplicate to 64823, then. The very same URL was cited in 2004 as reason for removal of the suidperl binary, there were some complaints from users and the USE flag was introduced.

My URL wasn't good because it is unversioned.

The content of the documents changed:
http://search.cpan.org/~nwclark/perl-5.8.4/INSTALL#suidperl
http://search.cpan.org/~jesse/perl-5.12.2/INSTALL#suidperl

The is no optional support for suidperl anymore.
