Description bartoz 2010-10-18 06:38:09 UTC
This program (see the link) - with sys-auth/libfprint, from the portage tree - is the only way to effectively use the fingerprint reader on my thinkpad t410s with pam integration.
I manually installed it and it works fine (by following the guide on the site), even if some problems remain with kde (the fingerprint autentication does not work when unlocking the screen, while it works with kdm and in any console with sudo and su).
Is anyone able to make an ebuild, maybe making automatic also the modifications to the pam files?
I would have tried myself but I really do not have time now; i open this bug if anyone is willing to try and I will eventually post here my tries when I will find the time.

Reproducible: Always

I was faster ;-)

This is a dublicate of bug #341105
I wrote an ebuild there.

You can find a ebuild there. And pam_fprint makes it into the tree ( bug 227671). I don't know how, but the description says it is similar to fingerprint-gui, but in a really early state.
