build.log
I have an ebuild pending commit in overlay that is highly cleaned up but still suffers this problem. Haven't been able to fix it myself. Pushed a fixed ebuild in overlay for testing. Thanks to plaes for the patch. !!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled !!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict: dev-libs/glib:2 (dev-libs/glib-2.26.0-r1, installed) pulled in by >=dev-libs/glib-2.25.122 required by (gnome-extra/evolution-data-server-2.32.0, installed) (dev-libs/glib-2.24.2, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by (no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot) currently you have to deal with masked packages yourself. Bottom line. Current builds are not usable by non-root users from a sound system perspective. Ie no sound for non-root users.. Sound, mplayer, sound in browsers works fine so long as one is the superuser (root). It does not work in any way if one is not root (even if one is in the audio group). The bottom line is that I have an installed gentoo system which is extremely dysfunctional (with respect to audio functions) Every person with audio permission should be able to exercise audio operations. I stress that all audio operations do work correctly for root users. So it is entirely a permissions problem. |
