There's nothing we can do about this until 1.4 is marked stable. We don't document ~arch packages. Going to mark this as REMIND, so we can revisit the guide once the arch teams have stabilized the package some time in the future. Now 4 months has passed since the stabilisation of cups-1.4.6-r2 and we are now on 1.4.8-r1 on all arch (except mips and *-fbsd, where there isn't a stable version), isn't it time to actually do something about it? In particular, whereas /etc is CONFIG_PROTECT'ed, /usr/share/cups/mime (or parents) isn't, does that mean after every time cups is emerge'd we have to remember to edit it? Also, is there any reason why this bug cannot be reopened when it is time to REMIND? |
