![]() I would recommend no. On or after Friday (may 14th), freewrl-1.22.8 will be released, which is -much- more stable and much more useable. There are upstream bugs in 1.22.6 that make it less than attractive to use. freewrl-1.22.8 can, imo, go directly to stable as soon as its ready. The only bug that exists right now is related to intermittent background texture loading (it works about half of the time, and has to do with a threading issue -- sometimes the scene is rendered before the texture gets loaded, and so the texture is never displayed). Even with this bug, 1.22.8 is a much better candidate for stable than 1.22.6 or 1.22.7 imo. (will resolve after discussing with my proxy) sounds like the package should have never went stable then. removing all stable versions then. 1.22.5 is stable, 1.22.6->1.22.7 have regressions (internal structural changes to make it more efficient and play nicer with other platforms). I can probably patch it so that 1.22.5 compiles against libpng14, would that suffice to keep it in the stable tree right now? nope, 1.22.6-r1 had also xulrunner 1.9.2 fix, it's also going stable for security (bug 314025). so as of now, 1.22.6-r1 is the only version left in tree. ergh.. 1.22.5 should have had the exact same fix in it (the fix works on both versions). OK, cool... i'll just try and get 1.22.8 in the tree as quickly as possible so it can get marked stable as quickly as possible. EVERYONE BUG-SEARCHING: the touch-sensor bugs and the texture bugs in 1.22.6 are fixed in 1.22.8. Please be patient, it'll get there as soon as it can. |
