emerging dev-libs/libgamin-0.1.10-r2 shows the following deprecation warning:

 * Deprecation Warning: python_version() is deprecated and will be banned on 2010-07-01.
 * Use PYTHON() instead of python variable. Use python_get_*() instead of PYVER* variables.
 * The ebuild needs to be fixed. Please report a bug, if it has not been already reported.

I can confirm this. I removed the pkg_postinst() completely from the ebuild, since it does nothing useful. find my ebuild attached to this bug, i kept a fixed version of pkg_postinst() as a comment in it, but it spews errors for some other site-packages and it does nothing of practical use - so i disabled it.

fyi, first import of the gamin module will compile it anyways...
