This issue still exists Portage 2.2_rc67 (default/linux/x86/10.0/desktop/kde, gcc-4.4.4, glibc-2.11.2-r0, 2.6.34-gentoo-home2 i686) This feature of portage works on the principle of Symlinks. Once you run portage as root, it makes links of the files in the RO directories to the DISTDIR, and then when you pretend, stuff works as expected. This is fixed in git now: http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/portage.git;a=commit;h=34c0a3e334ad884c9d85ef9683a1adafc8beb350 This is in 2.2_rc68, but I'll leave this bug open until it's in an unmasked version. This is fixed in 2.1.9. |
