I'm confused as to how the current version is even 0.6. The homepage and Sourceforge lists 0.5.4 as the latest: http://dvbcut.sourceforge.net/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvbcut/ It will be a shame to see this go as I find it very useful for cutting DVB files, but I can understand why -- unmaintained since 2007 and the only dependent of qt:3 for me locally. There was some discussion about a Qt4-port but there is also no code. media-video/ttcut would be an alternative. Unfortunately it is also currently unmaintained upstream, but it is a Qt4 app and will thus not be removed in the near future. It uses a different approach in comparison to dvbcut and relies on the demuxed DVB-stream which can be obtained by using tools like projectx in advance. For most people this looks like an additional unnecessary step but has several advantages over using the multiplexed DVB transport stream. media-video/dvbcut is no more. Hopefully there will be dvbcut2 anytime soon. |
