I am using xorg without hal. Please note lines (EE) Failed to load module "dri" (module does not exist, 0) (EE) Failed to load module "dri2" (module does not exist, 0) in Xorg.0.log. Do i need this modules with nvidia-drivers? If so, may it be eselect-opengl problem? The Nvidia GLX module is loaded. The proprietary Nvidia drivers do not use DRI. Simply remove the corresponding lines from your xorg.conf. Eh - reopening as you experience actual crashes. Please attach the full output of nvidia-bug-report.sh (or something similar, can't remember exactly). Thanks Created attachment 214465 [details]
nvidia bugreport log text
(In reply to comment #8) > Please attach the full output of nvidia-bug-report.sh (or something similar, > can't remember exactly). > > Thanks > Done:) Thanks to this log, I noticed lines NVRM: CPU does not support the PAT, falling back to MTRRs. in /var/log/messages Also, there is an interesting bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=274672 Please check. Note: packages x11-base/xorg-server-1.6.5-r1 x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-185.18.36 still don't work well together. I suggest removing them from stable branch.. I confirm, that x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-190.53 (from ~x86) works well with x11-base/xorg-server-1.6.5-r1 It's not an xorg(In reply to comment #10) > (In reply to comment #8) > > Please attach the full output of nvidia-bug-report.sh (or something similar, > > can't remember exactly). > > > > Thanks > > > > Done:) Thanks to this log, I noticed lines > > NVRM: CPU does not support the PAT, falling back to MTRRs. > > in /var/log/messages > > Also, there is an interesting bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=274672 > Please check. > You've upgraded your kernel past the point where nvidia-drivers-185.18.36 supports your kernel with your hardware configuration. You must use a newer nvidia-drivers or an older kernel. comment #11 is incorrect as you demonstrate in comment #12 that the issue is in fact with your kernel version and not xorg-server. Yes, i think so. xorg-server is out of the question. I assume you've retested and things worked well with updated versions. |
