Patch that adds support for rotating mouse
This has already been discussed on xorg mailing list months ago and although I don't remember the outcome, it'd be best to pick up the discussion there than start implementing this at distribution level. @Gilles: You are maintainer, but if it would be up to us in x11 team we would close this one as WONTFIX, since we already have policy of not using patches that were not accepted or are considered to be accepted by upstream. I'll give a good point for implementing this: you need this parameter to rotate you mouse together with screen so that you can use your 7'' 800x480 device as 480x800 to read ebooks but also to access some hidden menus that use 600 or 768 as minimum hard-coded height. And small-display devices are spreading faster and faster nowadays (netbooks <10'', smartphones, ipad-like, etc.). Please Do Not CC: Bug Assignee. Why was the summary changed... (this is not a question) Upstream seems to work on it. I just committed this patch upstream. It will be available in 1.4.1 or at least in 1.5.0. http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-input-synaptics/commit/?id=049d5fb6037b34d94b24cb8300849cf4e3b67437 I also added it to my personal overlay: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~cbrill/egore911-overlay/ Feel free to close this bug. Upstream bug is resolved. |
