More info : The DVD can be read fine with VLC on a MACOSX or Windows computer... Looks like your DVD-ROM doesn't like that DVD. Might be scratches or other minor surface damage, some drives can handle it, some don't ... I could think this may be the cause if this didn't happen on almost _every_ DVD I'm trying to read But I can understand if you consider this as an upstream problem... You forgot to post 'emerge --info' output, but assuming you're not running the latest kernel, try updating it; newer driver seems to be improved: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-796293-highlight-libdvdread+seek.html it seems to work fine now with the new kernel |
