Description Pierre 2009-11-10 18:54:09 UTC
I'm having trouble reading some DVDs, the video stops abruptly at some point during the reading.
It doesn't happen on each chapter, often it's on the longest one, and it stops always at the same moment of the video.

Here is the error I got with VLC :

[0x7a8ef8] main input error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called
[0x7a8ef8] main input error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called
[0xa67098] a52 decoder: A/52 channels:2 samplerate:48000 bitrate:448000
No accelerated IMDCT transform found
libdvdread: Can't seek to block 313594

Totem and mplayer stop at the same moment of the reading and print the same kind of error.
The DVD is not dirty or damaged.
The DVD I used for this example is a DVD5 multizone PAL, with no encryption.

More info : The DVD can be read fine with VLC on a MACOSX or Windows computer...

I could think this may be the cause if this didn't happen on almost _every_ DVD I'm trying to read

But I can understand if you consider this as an upstream problem...

You forgot to post 'emerge --info' output, but assuming you're not running the latest kernel, try updating it; newer driver seems to be

it seems to work fine now with the new kernel
