hmm well only thing that this patch doing is adding ~O_DIRECT to fuse filesystems =) so it may be added but its not mandatory Adding kernel-misc@gentoo.org since fuse is their stuff let me repeat again that this isn't _NECESSARY_ for fuse... (In reply to comment #3) > let me repeat again that this isn't _NECESSARY_ for fuse... > Regarding Gentoo doc, it is necessary for Gluster. Regarding my test, gluster hang on Gentoo. The only thing i do not have in line with Gentoo guide is patched Fuse. I did try Gluster on 4 hardened servers with the same result. But of you believe, that patch is useless, then ok. Could you please give us your configuration and possibly tell me how it hangs? I tested gluster 2 since the early rc and never had such problem with stock fuse. There's already a patch for it: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265935 .... but nobody seems to be including it :-( I'm closing this because I don't think it's an issue anymore with the latest glusterfs and fuse packages in the tree since fuse-2.8 removed the out-of-tree fuse module. Please reopen if it is. |
