Same issue here. Yet, after seeing the colorbars, X usually restart. Hardware: Intel i915 Software: xorg-server 1.6.1 mesa 7.4.4 libdrm 2.4.11 xf86-video-intel-2.7.99.902 Same problem here with intel i915. xorg-server 1.6.2-r1 mesa 7.4.4 libdrm 2.4.12 gentoo-sources 2.6.30-r3 The problem goes away when downgrading to version 2.7.1. Also I would like to tell that the intel drivers have never worked for me with the 2.6.30 kernels. Every day my computer chrashes at least once. I tried downgrading the video drivers and changing the acceleration from uxa to xxa or exa, neither of which helped. Reverting back to the latest 2.6.29 kernel makes everything fine again. I don't know whether to open a bug report for this: It seems to happen completely at random, and I don't really know how I can supply anything helpful about it. But if you want me to just let me know. The issue of which you speak is the same whether it's .30 vanilla, gentoo, or zen sources. Please try with .901 and report back Thanks Actually, please try again with .902-r1 that I've just committed. It should hit your local sync mirror within an hour or two. Thanks (In reply to comment #10) > Actually, please try again with .902-r1 that I've just committed. It should hit > your local sync mirror within an hour or two. > > Thanks > Hey Remi! How are you? I tried it, and X started and exited properly, but there was NO opengl. My GL screensavers didn't like it one bit. Close. Reopening And closing with the proper resolution. @Bob, your opengl issues are probably very similar to those described in bug #278119. Let's track them there for now.
