strace of compiz --replace command
Have you also tried? LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz --replace compiz (core) - Fatal: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0 compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0 is mostly resulting from missing indirect rendering, on which compiz relies on. (In reply to comment #2) > Have you also tried? > LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz --replace $LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz --replace compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't load plugin 'yes' different error message but same problem, compiz fails. Did you try running revdep-rebuild after updating libcompizconfig? (In reply to comment #4) > Did you try running revdep-rebuild after updating libcompizconfig? > Yes I dit it : revdep-rebuild didn't find any breakage. I already know that and I wrote it to the initial comment , but I wonder why on amd64 machine with nvidia proprietary driver everything works well also with 0.8.2-r2 but on other 2 x86 machines with ati graphic card and opensource driver I get the problem described above. (In reply to comment #7) > ... but I wonder why on amd64 machine with nvidia > proprietary driver everything works well also with 0.8.2-r2 but on other 2 x86 > machines with ati graphic card and opensource driver I get the problem > described above. That is exactly what I'm wondering about too.
